WARNING: Listening to this music doesn't require parental approval. It's a bit of clean rebellion. It keeps your outlook up and your hope alive. It's got strong drums and screaming guitars. It pumps you up and drives your life. It's a hunger for exploration. It chooses the right and returns with honor. It's music you don't have to confess to your bishop.

It's not your parents' "Saturday’s Warrior".

It's "A Joyful Noise"

Wow. Been a long time since I updated everyone. I can't begin to cover all the stuff that's gone down in the studio since then.

This morning, though, I worked on "Rejoice", a tune for my wife. It was written many years ago, but only recently has started to come forward in the studio. I think I cut the basic guitar tracks about a month ago.

It's got this cool bluesy sort of beat, and it's shifting keys all over the place. During the verses, I'm playing this cool sort of triplet kinda beat by slapping my knee with my hands. You know, kinda like when you just get this infectious beat in your head and you start tapping along? That's the feeling I'm getting from this.

Anyway, this morning I cut the drums and the bass. Well, the drums part is kinda missleading. Actually I only roughed in the the kick and the snare. The bass was tricky because there's a couple of guitar solo parts where the bass does this sort of scalar walking around kinda thing, almost jazz-band like. But with all those key changes, it was pretty tricky. I had to record it in sections.

Oh, and more on John N...

He did some orchestration for me on "Millstones" and we decided that he would just help me co-produce the rest of the CD. I'm pretty stoked about it, especially since that'll get me motivated to get focused on it and get it done.
