WARNING: Listening to this music doesn't require parental approval. It's a bit of clean rebellion. It keeps your outlook up and your hope alive. It's got strong drums and screaming guitars. It pumps you up and drives your life. It's a hunger for exploration. It chooses the right and returns with honor. It's music you don't have to confess to your bishop.

It's not your parents' "Saturday’s Warrior".

It's "A Joyful Noise"

Fireside Gig Comin' Up

So, a good friend contacted me the other day. It turns out he's in his YM organization, and asked me to do a fireside for the priests, just acoustic guitar and voice.  We texted (he never answers phone calls) back and forth and determined that the theme would be about "Trials and the Family".

So, I got all excited and sat down and worked out a setlist.  Here's my idea, so far.  I might trim it a bit, it'll depend on how it goes as I work up each song.

  1. Love at Home
  2. Today and Yesterday
  3. Dance with the Devil
  4. Long-haired Weirdo
  5. Alleluia
  6. Sweet Hour of Prayer
  7. Play the Cards
  8. He's Out There
  9. The Taker
  10. Wannabe
  11. The Sun Shone Through the Window
  12. Martyrs
  13. How Firm a Foundation
  14. How Beautiful
  15. Thank You

I'm pretty excited about it, especially the hymn arrangements.  I'll keep you posted!

Anyone else want a fireside performance?

In the meantime, I've also been working on another song, "The Spin".  It's a fun, political romp that includes all the obligatory arena rock cliches.  I'm shooting for a March release!
