Hello!
Well, I've learned something very important. Don't put out a song before it's ready. The more I listen to "Alleluia", the more I cringe. There's some serious intonation problems. I'm going to have to re-record the basic clean rhythm guitar and the bass.
*sigh*
In other news, John Newman has agreed to do a horn arrangement for "Dancin' Their Lives Away"! I'm stoked about that. Way back in the day, he and I were in a "project" called "Random Tangent". We were an eclectic-sounding bunch, with kinda strange instrumentation, but it all worked. That is until we all broke up in a rage and started suing each other.
Actually, no.
That's what real bands do.
In our case, we split up as good friends, and we all are still. Our keyboardist left to serve our country in Iraq, and John went back to college.
But I digress...
We worked up and performed an arrangement of "Dancin", and it was cool. So, I was pretty stoked when John said he'd re-interpret his horn parts and arrange it for me.
Anyway, stick around, there's more to come!

WARNING: Listening to this music doesn't require parental approval. It's a bit of clean rebellion. It keeps your outlook up and your hope alive. It's got strong drums and screaming guitars. It pumps you up and drives your life. It's a hunger for exploration. It chooses the right and returns with honor. It's music you don't have to confess to your bishop. It's "A Joyful Noise" |

Interesting news: I'm currently hosting my songs at a site called "Reverbnation", and they maintain charts. Currently, I'm #12 on the rock charts for northern Utah, and About 2900 and change on the overall rock charts. That's cool to me, because that's the first time I've broken the 3000 mark, globally. Pretty exciting!

A Very Cool Bit of News!
Last week, I got connected with a couple of fans, named the DeSpains. They said they really liked my songs and were going to play "He's Out There" at a stake dance (they're in a band, a trio). I was pretty excited about it. Then they came back and posted this video of the performance.
It's really cool when people like your tunes. It's even cooler when people like them enough to perform the songs themselves.
